Taroko Industrial Co., Ltd. (1432.TW) was established on May 1, 1964, formerly known as “Taroko Textile Co., Ltd.”, the original business was engaged in fiber manufacturing, dyeing, and other finishing and processing products.
In recent years, the company has actively developed vacant land and leased and sold office buildings, developed real estate business, and in the second half of 2013, it stepped into leisure tourism and department store trading operations, and invested in the establishment of “Taroko Development Co., Ltd.” to build a large-scale development project combining theme parks and shopping malls in the north, central and southern places; In 2014, it sold the Shandong factory to dispose of the profit, bid farewell to the textile industry, and its core business has been transformed into shopping center development and leisure and entertainment business.

On July 1, 2017, the company was announced by the Taiwan Stock Exchange that the company changed from textile stocks to trade department store stocks

On July 10, 2017, it officially changed its name to Taroko Industrial Co., Ltd

In July 2017, the company signed a letter of intent with Shin Kong Mitsukoshi to separate Kaohsiung Caoya Road Shopping Center, which opened in May 2016, into “Taroko Shopping Mall” by dividing “Taroko Development”, and transferring 60% of the equity to Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, and officially signed a contract in October 2017 with a profit of NTD 131 million.
Shanghai Keuchuang mainly holds 100% of the shares through Taroko Recreation. The company actively deploys the sports and leisure business in mainland China through Shanghai Jichuang Company, following the first operating base opened in Suzhou in an alliance with Japan’s AEON Group, and then forming an alliance with Hong Kong’s Wharf to launch the second operating base of Taroko sports and leisure business in mainland China in the international financial center (IFS), the most essential business district of Chunxi Road business district in Chengdu. Mainland sports and leisure business is planned to be three main axes: bowling alleys, sports bars and restaurants, catering, the establishment of a new brand “Leji”, by the end of 2016 in China to add exhibition stores to 7 venues.
In July 2015, the company took over the operation of Taichung New Times Shopping Center, transforming the shopping center into a leisure and entertainment direction. In terms of mainland layout, three new bases have been added in sports and leisure this year, namely Jinan University Town store, Suzhou Aeon Park and Chengdu Beicheng Tianjie store, and plans to add five more bases in 2016.

As of 2017, its three shopping center properties:
1. Taichung Taroko New Era Shopping Center: Since July 2015, it has leased to Fubon Life, with a total property area of 36,000 pyeong and a floor area of 21,000 pyeong.
2. Kaohsiung Caoya Road: Caoya Road Shopping Center started operation in May 2016. Successfully built the world’s only experiential sports and theme entertainment shopping center and the most fun international shopping center in Asia. At the end of 2017, it was officially transferred to Shin Kong Mitsukoshi.
3. Hsinchu Da Lu Ge Shopping Center (Da Lu Ge Hsinchu Huangya Plaza Project): RT-Mart will build about 6,800 square meters of commercial space, and the development and operation of Da Lu Ge is expected to open in the first half of 2018, which will become a new LOHAS landmark in Hsinchu area.
